How It Works Water is forced against the semi-permeable membrane, which has microscopic pores. It's a bit like a flyscreen against flies, only micoscopic. Water molecules, H2O, are small enough to squeeze through the pores. The pollutants are washed out to drain by the self cleaning process. It's a most natural process, using no filter media substances, chemicals or additives to extract chemicals from the water. There are no mechanical or electrical parts used in the Reverse Osmosis process.
